Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a Birmingham-based team to design, implement, and troubleshoot voice and data systems across company locations in the United States. The role focuses on enterprise VoIP (Cisco CUCM/UCCX) and cloud-based collaboration (Teams voice, D365 Voice) with a permanent status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 5+ years planning, implementing, and maintaining critical environments.
• Experience with Cisco CUCM, UCCX, Teams voice, D365 voice.
• Proficient with SD-WAN, VPN, and basic Fortinet firewall.
• Data center/cloud connectivity and basic routing/switching familiarity.
• Extensive Ethernet switching, LAN/WAN deployments.
• Experience with network management tools (PRTG, Fortinet Suite, Arista Cloud Vision).
• Experience with disaster recovery implementations (cloud).
• Strong written and verbal communications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement voice modernization strategy.
• Voice network monitoring and QoS reporting.
• Provide 3rd level network support and problem resolution.
• Plan, design, and implement network architecture for enterprise scope.
• Coordinate with corporate teams on enterprise-level projects.
• Manage voice communication capacity and WAN/LAN documentation.
• Handle change management, software updates, and configuration management.
• Evaluate and recommend networking hardware/software for data center and branch.
• Operate and maintain network management platforms.
• Collaborate with NOC, operations, vendors and support teams to maintain a stable network.

As the Senior Network Engineer, you would work with a team in Birmingham to design, implement, and troubleshoot voice and data communications systems for all company locations across the states. The team provides integration and consulting services to all internal departments and systems. systems. Primary focus for this position is enterprise VoIP systems (preferably Cisco) and cloud-based collaboration environments (Microsoft Teams voice, D365 Voice Channel or similar.)Term - Permanent Position

Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required – college degree preferred

• Experience managing a mix of connectivity, performance, security, and compliance settings for Outlook and Teams.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining critical environments

• 5 – 7 years networking experience similar to:

• Wide-area networking technologies, protocols, and related hardware (Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, etc.)

• Enterprise voice systems: Cisco CUCM, UCCX, Teams voice, D365 voice, cloud-based collaboration systems

• SD-WAN/VPN/Basic Firewall (Prefer Fortinet)

• Data Center, Cloud, Branch and Internet connectivity – basic routing & switching familarity

• Extensive experience with Ethernet switching, packet analysis, and large-scale LAN and WAN deployments.

• Enterprise network management tools – PRTG, Fortinet Suite, Arista Cloud Vision, etc.

• Experience with network disaster recovery implementations – including cloud

• Strong written & verbal communications skills
