Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and secure statewide enterprise networks. You will lead SD-WAN migrations, architect resilient WAN/LAN, and mentor staff while integrating with Azure and AWS cloud environments.

The role requires deep Cisco expertise (IOS/NX-OS), Meraki, ISE, and Zero Trust concepts, with a focus on automation, compliance with NIST standards, and proactive performance monitoring across multiple locations in Virginia.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Expert-level Cisco routing and switching (IOS/NX-OS).
• Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF, QoS.
• Hands-on Cisco SD-WAN (vManage/vSmart/vEdge) experience.
• Meraki expertise with API usage and automation.
• Deep expertise in Cisco ISE, Duo, Cloudflare Zero Trust.
• Automation experience with Python/PowerShell/Ansible/REST APIs.
• Automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, REST APIs, Git).
• Advanced monitoring experience (SolarWinds/PRTG, ThousandEyes, Splunk).
• Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to travel statewide.
• CCNA required.
• CCNP preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise network solutions on Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Catalyst, Nexus.
• Lead SD-WAN architecture with centralized policies and templates.
• Engineer scalable networks, cloud integrations, and security controls.
• Mentor junior staff and drive best practices across projects.
• Develop monitoring dashboards and perform root-cause analysis.
• Design and implement L2/L3 networking, segmentation, QoS, HA, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Lead SD-WAN migrations and policy management.
• Mentor junior staff and enforce best practices.
• Support LAN/WAN infrastructure across distributed locations.
• Analyze logs, alerts, and performance metrics.
