Job summary

Waystar is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and support a complex multi-site enterprise network infrastructure. This role will drive modernization initiatives and provide senior technical leadership across offices, data centers, and cloud-connected environments.

You will specialize in routing, switching, VPNs, NAC, and Zero Trust, partnering with security teams to enhance resilience, performance, and end-user experience while delivering scalable,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering, including 5+ years in large multi-site environments.
• Advanced experience with enterprise firewalls, VPN tech, routing/switching, network segmentation, NAC, and Zero Trust concepts.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS, HA, and dynamic routing protocols.
• Experience supporting highly available production environments and using network monitoring tools.
• Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Develop scalable architectures for on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Lead modernization initiatives focused on resiliency, security, and efficiency.
• Evaluate technologies and set standards aligned with security needs.
• Create network diagrams, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Administer routing, switching, and wireless platforms across sites.
• Configure VLANs, redundancy, QoS, and routing protocols.
