Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across Virginia's multi-site environment. This role requires hands-on Cisco routing and switching, SD-WAN, and security expertise to maintain high availability.

You will work hybrid in Richmond, travel statewide, and contribute to network modernization, automation, and Zero Trust initiatives, mentoring staff and coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Active CCNA certification with Cisco ID and date for verification.
• 5+ years of Network/WAN administration or engineering in multi-site environments.
• Strong hands-on Cisco routing and switching (IOS/NX-OS, Catalyst/Nexus).
• Hands-on Cisco SD-WAN experience (vManage/vSmart/vEdge).
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
• Experience with ISE, NAC, firewalls, VPNs and secure access.
• Willingness to travel statewide in Virginia and participate in on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and optimize enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure across Virginia sites.
• Configure Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Catalyst, and Nexus routing and switching.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2/3 networks: VLANs, OSPF/BGP/EIGRP, QoS.
• Support Cisco SD-WAN architecture using vManage, vSmart, vEdge/IOS-XE.
• Lead security deployments: ISE, VPNs, NAC, segmentation.
• Develop automation with Python/PowerShell/Ansible and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and server/storage teams; mentor juniors.
