Job summary

Impact Networking is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the MIT organization under Service Operations. You will provide world-class support for client networks, triage and troubleshoot incidents, and coordinate with vendors to resolve layer 1–3 issues, changes, and service requests for routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.

Responsibilities include monitoring, root-cause analysis, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams; you will stay current with networking

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production support for enterprise/MSP
• Strong troubleshooting skills and operational experience
• Knowledge of routing protocols (BGP4/OSPF/ISIS) and Internet concepts
• Experience with firewall platforms (Cisco/FortiNet/SonicWall/Palo Alto)
• Familiarity with ITIL/Service Management and incident/change processes
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service orientation
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class customer support and technical expertise for Impact Networking customer environments
• Manage network incidents through to service restoration and closure
• Engage customers, internal teams, and external vendors as required
• Monitor networks, verify alarms, and collaborate on resolution of issues
• Perform network configuration changes in response to client issues
• Conduct root cause analysis and prevent recurrence
• Create and maintain technical documentation and network diagrams
• Act as training resource and escalation point for peers
