Job summary

The Federal Reserve Board seeks a Senior Network Engineer in Washington, DC to maintain and secure enterprise and data center networks, lead complex routing/switching projects, and guide junior staff in policy and best practices. Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience plus six years of experience.
• Expert knowledge in computer networking, cloud computing, disaster recovery, data warehouse architecture, programming/scripting languages, change management principles, automation, computing, networking, and database systems.
• Ability to lead user technical support, hardware and software support, technical problem solving, software development, technology evaluation, and information security.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and/or participates in the installation, modification, enhancement, and/or management of systems and network resources to meet business requirements.
• Oversees the review of systems designs to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
• Oversees the process to ensure that technology solutions align with business needs and software requirements.
• Oversees and/or participates in the diagnosis of hardware and software problems and in the resolution of violations as they occur.
• Coaches junior staff to develop knowledge of policies governing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and information management.
• Oversees the maintenance of the security posture of systems through implementation of standards and best practices.
• Provides system and application support and consulting to clients, resolving customer support issues while considering technology standards.
• Oversees and/or participates in ensuring customer issues are resolved and enhances infrastructure and security systems with a bias toward customer experience.
• Oversees documentation of technical direction to identify functional characteristics of a system and support audits.
