Job summary

Tria Federal is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to maintain and optimize enterprise infrastructure, including on‑prem and AWS cloud connectivity. The role covers design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of Cisco networks, with a focus on performance baselines and incident response.

You will work primarily at Suitland, MD with occasional duties in Ashburn, VA, supporting government network environments and data centers. Strong Cisco and AWS knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 10 years in a large government organization managing internetworking environments.
• 8 years troubleshooting complex infrastructure, IPv4 and related protocols.
• 5 years using Netscout and SolarWinds for monitoring and baselining networks.
• 3 years data center operations including cabling, rack & power.
• Familiar with AWS security fundamentals and hybrid connectivity concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor and support Cisco telecommunication devices and data center hardware.
• Lead escalation when working with Cisco equipment and hybrid AWS connectivity.
• Deploy new hardware, perform upgrades, and support AWS lift‑and‑shift migrations.
• Patch-manage NX‑OS and IOS on Cisco devices and validate with AWS components.
• Document high-level designs, requirements, test cases, and SOPs.
• Present proof‑of‑concepts and demos to teams and customers.
• Provide after-hours support for on‑prem and AWS-connected systems.
• Mentor junior network and data‑center engineers on cloud networking basics.
