Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a large scale wired and wireless network for a government project. You will interface with governmental personnel, stakeholders, and vendors to support testing, security, and quality assurance throughout the lifecycle.

You will lead telecommunications initiatives, monitor health, implement patches, and document architectures while ensuring robust disaster recovery planning and incident response knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and strong documentation skills.
• CWNA and BCNE certifications or equivalents.
• Experience with RF site survey tools such as Ekahau, RF scanners, and Wireshark.
• Knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking (VLANs, OSPF, VRRP) and security (802.1x, RADIUS, certificates).
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments; VMware experience.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning and vulnerability testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting using network management software.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation.
• Review best practices and provide architecture recommendations.
• Onboard and monitor wireless networks; apply security patches and updates.
• Assess network infrastructure and recommend improvements.
• Define testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Provide design guidance and training on network solutions.
