Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Lead Network Engineer to enhance and maintain a large-scale wired and wireless network. You’ll design infrastructure, lead testing, and coordinate with state/local personnel and vendors.

Expect responsibilities across security patches, documentation, and performance optimization. The role interfaces with diverse stakeholders, requires strong network engineering background, and a commitment to delivering robust government IT solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information systems or related.
• Strong documentation skills with Jira, Wiki Pages and network diagrams.
• Experience with RF site survey tools and wireless network health monitoring.
• Proficiency in layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing and network security basics.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage large-scale NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
• Review best practices; advise on architecture, design, and operations.
• Oversee onboarding and maintenance of wireless/onboard network health; patching.
• Plan testing procedures and implement network solutions in NPS environments.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
