Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a large-scale wired and wireless network infrastructure for a government project in Tampa, FL. You will evaluate current networks, define architectures, and lead testing and security hardening efforts with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering, CS, Information Systems or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred in related discipline.
• CWNA certification or equivalent is required.
• BCNE certification or equivalent is required.
• Experience with RF site survey tools (Ekahau) and packet capture (Wireshark).
• Strong knowledge of VLANs, 802.1w, OSPF, VRRP and layer 2/3 routing.
• Experience with Linux, Windows Server, VMware.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting with network management software.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation for NPS networks.
• Review best practices and suggest network architecture improvements.
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding, monitor wireless health, apply patches.
• Assess NPS infrastructure and recommend improvements.
• Define and conduct testing for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within NPS environment.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for NPS projects.
• Train NPS staff on best practices and operation of network products.
