Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Honolulu to lead LAN/WAN engineering, security, and troubleshooting for the DoD Medical mission. This role requires DoD experience, a Secret clearance, and advanced routing knowledge.

The chosen candidate will serve as regional technical lead, guiding network operations and standards across DHA facilities in the Europe region and related environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or 10 years of directly related experience.
• DoD Directive 8570.01 compliance and IAM Level III; CCNP and CISSP certifications required.
• SECRET security clearance required.
• Mastery of TCP/IP, XDM, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols.
• Experience with Windows, UNIX, OpenVMS; routers/switches; WAN connectivity.
• OTDR, cable testers, sniffers; Cisco systems; SolarWinds; firewalls, VPN, IDS.
• Experience with DoD Health Care Information Systems.
• Diagnose across OSI with Orion, ARMIS, Ansible; MRTG knowledge.
• Strong communication with government and technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve complex network issues; install and configure network components.
• Serve as regional point of contact for network issues and routing.
• Advise government staff on network design, deployment, and management to support DoD mission.
• Evaluate performance and recommend operational improvements.
• Develop procedures and standards; lead or participate in special projects.
