Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in San Antonio, TX to support the DoD medical mission with reliable, secure and high-performing network infrastructure. The role requires leadership across LAN, WLAN, and WAN engineering, with emphasis on routing, security, and operations.

The ideal candidate will have a SECRET clearance, CCNP and CISSP, and experience with SolarWinds and Ansible, plus strong communication with Government and contractor personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent.At least five years of directly related experience.
• Must hold Information Assurance Manager Level III or equivalent, and CCNP and CISSP certifications.
• SECRET security clearance required.
• Proficient with TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network management tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve complex network issues; provide advanced installation and configuration support.
• Serve as regional point of contact for network issues, configuration management, and routing.
• Advise Government staff and contractor personnel on network design, deployment, and management to support DoD mission.
• Evaluate network performance and provide recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
• Lead or participate in projects; develop procedures and standards.
