Job summary

Serco is seeking a Network Engineer to join a remote role supporting a Virginia client, with responsibilities across design, implementation, and optimization of secure network infrastructure. Expect collaboration with DevOps, cross‑functional teams, and ongoing improvements to cloud networking.

The role emphasizes experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, AWS networking, IaC tooling, and security best practices within federal environments. A strong focus on reliability and performance is required.

Qualifications

• US work authorization required.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience.
• Willing to accept 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience; 9–11 years without a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize networking with secure, efficient connectivity.
• Configure and manage a hybrid cloud network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build highly available, scalable network architectures for cloud apps/services.
• Use monitoring/troubleshooting tools to proactively identify and resolve performance issues and security incidents.
• Adhere to networking best practices, support security remediation, and perform system hardening and compliance.
• Know-how with Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, Cisco routes/switches incl. ACL management.
• Work with DevOps to automate network provisioning and config.
• Evaluate AWS networking services to improve performance, security, and cost.
