Job summary

Cianbro is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to modernize, secure, and support a distributed network spanning offices, jobsites, and remote users. The role blends hands-on engineering with design work to mature our enterprise-scale network toward secure, reliable access for cloud and SaaS environments.

The ideal candidate combines strategic design with hands-on implementation and cross-team collaboration to ensure security, reliability, and adherence to enterprise technology standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, managing, and operating secure connectivity for cloud-centric, distributed environments.
• Experience with SASE, SD-WAN, Zero Trust-aligned network access and modern secure architectures.
• Knowledge of identity-aware access concepts (Entra ID, Conditional Access, Zero Trust patterns).
• Experience with multi-site network solutions (permanent and temporary).
• Experience optimizing legacy LAN/WAN and VPN with cloud migrations.
• Experience with Cisco/Meraki or similar platforms; CATO SASE preferred.
• Ability to lead workstreams, mentor staff, and balance support with architecture work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement network patterns, baselines, and documentation aligned with security standards for a distributed enterprise.
• Modernize on-premise environments to favor cloud and SaaS access patterns.
• Advance access models like SASE, SD-WAN, and Zero Trust for secure connectivity.
• Implement automation and repeatable deployment practices to improve consistency.
• Monitor network health and availability across offices, jobsites, remote users, and cloud environments.
• Create standardized jobsite deployment patterns for rapid mobilization and secure connectivity.
• Collaborate with IT teams to meet governance and lifecycle management needs.
• Maintain network diagrams, dependency maps, and runbooks for incident response and change control.
• Occasional travel to offices or jobsites to support design and deployment.
