Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate high-speed Ethernet networks powering our AI cloud across multiple US locations. You’ll help shape data centre fabrics, management networks, and inference traffic paths with a focus on reliability and observability.

You will collaborate with architecture and operations teams on BOM accuracy, DC layouts, and scalable reference architectures.

Qualifications

• Designing, deploying, and operating high-speed Ethernet networks across data centre fabrics and storage links.
• Strong routing knowledge (BGP/OSPF) and EVPN/VXLAN for scalable network architectures.
• Experience with WAN, long-haul circuits, and carrier Ethernet environments.
• Scripting for automation (Python or Bash) to improve deployment and observability.
• Solid hardware/optics understanding to assist BOM decisions and troubleshooting.
• Experience in fast-paced, reliability-focused operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate Ethernet-based front-end networks for data centers and management networks.
• Collaborate with deployment teams to ensure correct BOMs and optimal hardware selection.
• Provide input on DC layout, rack elevations, and reference architectures for scalable front-end networks.
• Troubleshoot performance and connectivity on Ethernet front-end networks, including routing and optics.
• Automate deployment, stand-up, and day-to-day operations of multi-vendor Ethernet hardware.
• Design, implement, and support WAN and long-haul infrastructure (carrier circuits, DCI, internet transit).
• Work with Architecture and Operations to maintain reliability, observability, and efficiency.
