Job summary

AWS GCNA is seeking a System Development Engineer to join the Backbone Enterprise, and Regional Engineering (BERE) team. You’ll partner with Infrastructure to standardize configurations and automate deployment of networking designs across AWS global infrastructure.

You will work with network, software and systems teams to roll out designs quickly, sustain tools, and ensure compliance with standards while delivering scalable, cost-efficient networking solutions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals and networking.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience with networking, OS, and storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement automation changes on the network.
• Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, implementation, scaling, best practices, or optimization.
• Sustain AWS backbone networks for large customers with support during large-scale events.
• Develop automation for routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations; including Unix interactions.
• Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border.
• Partner with the Network/Infrastructure organization on standards and tools.
• Work with Network/Systems/Software teams for fast roll-out and sustainment of tools.
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and policy compliance.
• Deliver simple, sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes.
• Collaborate with senior escalation engineers.
• Create and review docs and processes for recurring issues and SOPs.
