Job summary

The AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) Organization at Amazon is seeking a Network Development Engineer for the EDGE team. You will design, operate, and implement large-scale networks that connect Amazon to the global internet, with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.

You will develop HLD/LLD documents, automate deployment processes, and work with internal customers from concept to production, while participating in a 24×7 on-call rotation to resolve incidents and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of IP networking fundamentals and troubleshooting.
• 8+ years of major internet routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, ISIS) in large enterprise.
• 8+ years working with Cisco IOS and/or Junos.
• 3+ years Unix/Linux experience and scripting (Python, Perl, or shell).

Responsibilities

• Design network designs, services, and deployment procedures that meet multiple requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects that support the team’s mission.
• Develop HLD and LLD documents, influence roadmaps, construct and test solutions, and provide deployment & operation support.
• Create and automate deployment processes to increase quality and velocity.
• Work closely with internal customers to bring designs/solutions from concept to production.
• Participate in a 24×7 on‑call rotation and drive rapid resolution of incidents.
• Travel to data‑center/network sites and Amazon/customer offices as needed.
