Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Network Assurance Engineer to own outage incidents, communications, change management, and process issues for a public sector client. You will ensure high network availability and respond in a round‑the‑clock environment, coordinating with customer service centers, technical support, vendors, and executives during major events.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Three or more years of experience as a network assurance engineer
• Advanced IP and Routing experience.
• Must have, or qualify for, and maintain a U.S. government clearance at the Public Trust level.
• Must be able to participate in the on-call rotation which requires work on evenings and weekends during your week of rotation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor outages and communicate network events to customer service centers and engineering teams.
• Manage and communicate network outages in a timely and effective manner with technical details and status.
• Apply in-depth technical knowledge to help resolve complex issues.
• Build relationships with the customer and support teams.
• Partner with automation teams to analyze processes for improvements and automation.
• Identify system constraints and recommend solutions to enhance performance for engineers.
