Job summary

Verizon seeks a Senior Network Engineer to provide day-to-day sustaining engineering for enterprise networks, including LAN/WAN, SDN and NFV. You will mentor teammates, lead project plans, and collaborate across teams to improve design and operations.

This hybrid role requires a strong technical background, security clearances where applicable, and the ability to drive projects to completion while meeting deadlines and maintaining service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience.
• Ability to ascertain a GSA Public Trust certificate and any other applicable security clearances.
• Cisco Network Certifications or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Mentor team members on networking, design, and automation; act as final escalation point for production issues.
• Lead performance meetings with agencies and planning/maintenance engineering; create detailed project plans.
• Provide input on status calls across organizations.
• Finish projects independently and meet tight timelines without impacting critical services.
• Develop best practices for engineering and operations in partnership with other departments and vendors.
• Provide day-to-day sustaining engineering for enterprise networks.
