Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s Physical Networking organization builds and operates the global network infrastructure supporting OCI workloads, managing thousands of devices across more than 50 regions. Join the team responsible for network fabrics supporting OCI Dedicated Regions and Multicloud Connectivity.

As a hands‑on Principal Network Engineer, you’ll serve as a technical lead for a key area of the team’s work.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of network engineering experience with cross-team influence.
• Deep understanding of L2–L4 networking, IP addressing, BGP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, ECMP, HA.
• Hands-on automation experience for provisioning, configuration, validation, or operations.
• Familiarity with Git, APIs, CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing.
• Experience leading production network changes with risk assessment, validation, rollback, and change control.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex issues across protocols, devices, automation, and physical infra.
• Experience leading incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to drive complex technical work and influence across teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication for design and cross-stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and operation of data-center fabrics, routing, and secure connectivity for OCI’s physical network infrastructure.
• Translate requirements into scalable network designs, standards, and deployment strategies; guide technical decisions and tradeoffs.
• Independently drive complex projects from design to deployment, coordinating milestones across teams.
• Set direction for network automation and validation using Python, APIs, Git workflows, and IaC practices.
• Establish and improve production-change practices: risk assessment, pre-change checks, post-change verification, rollback.
• Lead improvements to monitoring, capacity planning, runbooks, and incident response across protocols and devices.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide leadership during large-scale incidents.
• Lead design reviews, develop repeatable standards, and mentor engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Represent the team in cross-team initiatives influencing designs and deployment at scale.
