Job summary

Cumming Group is seeking a seasoned Network Administrator to manage and secure our expansive network infrastructure for a large public works educational facility in Los Angeles area. You will handle physical and virtual environments, servers, routers, firewalls, LAN/WAN, and disaster recovery operations.

The role requires 7+ years of experience with Windows servers, AD/Entra ID, Office 365, and network security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of network administration experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, positive attitude and keen attention to detail.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and current Windows Servers and Internet protocols (DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP).
• Familiarity with Active Directory Services, Entra ID, Office 365, and SharePoint management system.
• Experience with VPN Appliances and Cisco Meraki Appliances.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles, backup and recovery tools, and vulnerability scanning.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation to streamline admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Configures, manages and provides technical networking support for physical and virtual environments, including hosts and storage.
• Testing, installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems, applications and network devices.
• Ensure system uptime and effective communication with the IT team.
• Oversees administration of systems and servers related to the network to ensure service availability.
• Installs and configures network software, and performs upgrades as needed.
• Proactively monitors network and system issues and takes corrective action.
• Manage projects to deliver services per objectives.
• Configure and support firewalls, Wi-Fi APs, switches and other devices.
• Responds to inquiries from staff and vendors and provides timely support.
• Develops SOPs and documents procedures; shares knowledge with the team.
• Researches network products, services, and standards for procurement and development.
• Provide technical support for installations and maintenance of network systems.
• Support existing networks and perform upgrades as needed.
• Maintain network security firewalls and access rights.
