Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior NETA Field Service Technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot and start up electrical systems across industrial and commercial sites. The role requires travel across Illinois and nearby states, with on-call duties.

Minimum 5+ years of switchgear testing experience and a technical degree are expected; NETA certification or electrician license is preferred. Strong PC skills and PowerDB experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or EE degree from ABET accredited college; relevant military training acceptable.
• NETA Certification (III or IV) or Electrician license preferred.
• 5+ years of switchgear testing & troubleshooting experience.
• Strong PC skills including email, internet, data entry; PowerDB a plus; proficient with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and collect data on HV and MV electrical systems.
• Travel locally/regionally to customer job sites; rotate on-call duties and respond to emergencies.
• Perform tests on instrument transformers, power transformers, relays, cable tests and switchgear.
• Calibrate relays and perform power metering; troubleshoot ATS and related equipment.
