Job summary
DECAL in Georgia is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the modernization of its licensing platform, migrating from legacy ASP.NET to .NET 8+ and Azure-based architectures. You will own architectural decisions, delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will build API-first services, implement CI/CD, and mentor a lean team while ensuring security, accessibility, and maintainability across the platform.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional .NET development experience.
- Migration of legacy ASP.NET to modern .NET (6/7/8/10) required.
- Production SQL Server experience with T-SQL, schema migrations, and data cleanup.
- Azure hands-on: App Services, Function Apps, deployment pipelines.
- 5+ years delivering software in Agile environments using ADO or GitHub.
Responsibilities
- Modernize DECAL's licensing and eligibility applications, transitioning legacy solutions to modern .NET and Azure-based architectures.
- Design scalable, secure, and maintainable application solutions.
- Build API-first integrations and services for future platform capabilities.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using Azure services.
- Own the SQL Server platform, including data architecture and migrations.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Drive engineering excellence via code reviews, automation, and documentation.
