Job summary

Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) seeks a Senior Full-Stack .NET Modernization Developer to lead modernization from legacy ASP.NET to .NET 8+, Azure cloud services, and a React-based UI. This is a hands-on senior role driving architecture, API design, and cloud integration in a statewide licensing platform.

Hybrid work in Atlanta, GA with on-site Tuesdays–Thursdays and mandatory in-person milestones.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional .NET development experience — C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API
Migration of legacy ASP.NET to modern .NET (6/7/8/10)
Production SQL Server experience: stored procedures, T-SQL tuning, migrations
5+ years delivering software in Agile (Scrum or Kanban) with ADO or GitHub

Responsibilities

Champion modernization of DECAL's licensing and eligibility applications; transition legacy solutions to modern .NET and Azure-based architectures
Design scalable, secure, maintainable application solutions; reduce technical debt
Build and evolve API-first integrations and services for future platform capabilities
Develop cloud-native solutions using Azure App Services, Functions, and related technologies
Own the SQL Server platform including data architecture and performance tuning
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, and documentation
