Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior .NET Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for our client projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across technology, delivery, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of backend development with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Web API, REST APIs, and SQL Server. Hybrid work model in the United States; occasional in-person interviews may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years backend development with C#, .NET and ASP.NET Web API.
• Experience building REST APIs and SQL Server.
• Experience using Git and unit testing in software development.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud platforms.
• DevOps awareness and production support experience.
• Banking/financial services experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain backend services, APIs and components using C#, .NET and ASP.NET Web API.
• Write scalable, secure and high-performance code while contributing to complex modules and existing features.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing and troubleshooting to improve solution quality and production stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, support delivery priorities and resolve technical issues.
• Work independently while supporting overlapping time zones when required by project and client needs.
