Job summary

Cognizant in the United States is seeking a software engineer with 4–6 years of experience to build secure, scalable provider-domain applications using ASP.NET Core and C#. The role supports hybrid work and requires designing robust services and web interfaces to back enterprise clients in a day-shift environment.

You will collaborate with product owners, refactor existing solutions, implement API services, optimize data access, and contribute to CI/CD with unit and integration tests.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience building secure, scalable apps with ASP.NET Core and C#.
• Strong proficiency with Entity Framework and ADO.NET for data access.
• Experience designing and consuming ASP.NET Core Web API services for enterprise integrations.
• Solid SQL skills and relational database design.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud/enterprise architectures and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with provider domain concepts is a plus.
• Experience in code reviews and maintaining coding standards.
• Ability to write unit and integration tests for .NET applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop provider domain applications using ASP.NET Core MVC and C# to deliver enterprise functionality.
• Implement data access layers with EF and ADO.NET to ensure data integrity.
• Create secure ASP.NET Core Web API services for internal and partner integrations.
• Optimize SQL queries and database structures for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Review and refactor existing .NET solutions to improve maintainability and reduce tech debt.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold best practices across the team.
• Develop unit and integration tests to support CI pipelines.
• Work with QA to analyze defects and improve application stability in hybrid environments.
• Document designs, API contracts, and deployment procedures.
• Coordinate with DevOps for deployment and monitoring of .NET apps.
• Investigate production incidents and communicate resolutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for provider solutions.
