Job summary

Bristol Infrastructure Designs Services, LLC is recruiting a Construction Support Cost Estimator to assist the Navy at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. You will deliver independent, timely cost engineering support for planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Commands.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience with architectural, engineering, or construction firms on commercial/industrial facilities contracts valued over $10M.
• Advanced understanding of all design phases including programming, space planning, sustainability and code compliance.
• Knowledge of budgeting, planning, cost management and scheduling for DBB/DB projects.
• Experience with cost estimating software and DoD systems; BIM knowledge (Revit) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide feasibility/constructability, bid-ability, operability and environmental reviews and identify cost exposures with recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
• Attend pre-award and post-award meetings and document findings to support estimates.
• Visit sites to monitor progress, review estimates and document conditions.
• Provide cost estimating support for claims, disputes, terminations processing, and audits as requested.
• Notify the Contracting Officer and Construction Manager of significant events or deficiencies.
