Job summary

Bristol Infrastructure Designs Services, LLC is seeking a Construction Support Cost Estimator to support the Navy at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. The role provides independent, timely cost engineering support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for Navy and other commands.

Ideal candidates have deep experience in cost estimates for large industrial facilities, deployment of BIM tools, and a track record with Design-Bid-Build or Design-Build projects, with DoD

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience with architectural, engineering, or construction firms on projects >$10M.
• Advanced understanding of all design phases, codes and standards.
• Knowledge of budgeting, planning and project cost management techniques.
• Experience with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects for cost estimates.
• Eligibility to obtain security clearance for DoD.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent cost estimating support for planning, design, construction and maintenance.
• Review cost data for major equipment and advise on cost exposures.
• Attend pre-award and post-award meetings and support negotiations.
• Visit construction sites to monitor progress and document conditions.
• Perform QA/QC on complex estimates and ensure contractual conformance.
• Assist acquisition team with claims, disputes and terminations processing.
