Construction Association of Michigan is seeking a Sr. Naval Architect Marine Engineer to provide technical solutions and project leadership in naval architecture and marine engineering. The role requires overseeing professionals, guiding complex analyses and coordinating with clients and regulators.

The incumbent will manage budgets, schedules and project tasks while maintaining high-quality drawings, specifications and reports for vessel projects and surveys.

Qualifications

  • Naval Architect and Marine Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years direct industry experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Supervisory experience managing engineers and draftspeople.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects including personnel, budget, schedule and technical development.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specs, analyses to meet requirements.
  • Interact with clients on a peer level.
  • Oversee ship construction or repair projects.
  • Prepare reports for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Assess hydrostatics, stability, vessel speed, fuel transfer and cargo handling.
  • Lead and mentor naval architects and marine engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with NETSCo and regulatory standards.
