Role Description

The Naval Architect will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing marine vessels and structures, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include performing hydrostatic and stability calculations, structural assessments, and collaborating closely with marine engineers and designers to develop detailed plans and specifications. The role involves reviewing and refining designs based on client needs, conducting feasibility studies, and supporting construction, modification, and repair activities. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Morgan City, LA, requiring regular coordination with project teams and stakeholders to meet schedule and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Naval Architecture, including vessel design principles and marine structural behavior.
• Proficiency in engineering calculations and structural analysis for marine applications.
• Knowledge of Marine Engineering systems and integration with hull and structural design.
• Familiarity with commercial marine standards, classification society rules, and relevant regulations.
