Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Naval Architect & Marine Engineer to lead the Structural group in designing vessels and preparing production drawings for new builds and repairs.

Responsibilities include supervising designers, ensuring compliance with design standards and class rules, coordinating with disciplines, and producing accurate 3D models and drawings for production and approval by classification societies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years naval architecture and shipyard experience.
  • Proficient in FORAN, Ship Constructor or similar 3D CAD/CAM software.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, MSC Nastran or Femap, Rhino.
  • Strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills and document interpretation.
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Structural group in 2D/3D design for vessels.
  • Oversee the development of production/fabrication drawings.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines, clients, vendors and superintendents.
  • Prepare schedules for assigned engineering work.
  • Prepare contract change documents and design modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with contract, class, and regulatory requirements.
