Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Nation State leadership team. You will drive strategy, influence stakeholders, and develop detection and response automation across security and engineering teams.

You will identify critical assets and TTPs, assess top risks, and evaluate potential attacks against Meta systems while working with policy, legal, and operations teams to strengthen standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Understanding of security risks in a fast-moving environment.
• 10+ years in offensive/defensive cyber operations or security engineering roles.
• Experience communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions.
• Experience delivering executive-level security strategies.
• Engineering experience and ability to reason about complex technical systems.
• Experience designing systems for responding to external and insider threats.
• B.S. in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and prioritize risk across the company.
• Lead cross-company workstreams to deploy capabilities from multiple security teams.
• Apply attacker’s mindset to strengthen incident detection and response capabilities.
• Perform TTP-based threat modeling for assets including endpoints, servers, cloud environments, and networking equipment.
• Review security architecture and propose logging, detection, and prevention controls.
• Work with policy and legal teams to strengthen standards and governance.
• Build response workflows that auto-resolve false positives and provide context.
• Influence asset-owning teams to adopt access control designs and processes.
• Support security incident response in cross-functional environments and drive resolution.
• Build logging pipelines using custom datasets and infrastructure.
