Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join the Nation State leadership team. You will drive strategy and collaborate across security and engineering groups to develop detection/response automation, leverage both industry-standard and custom platforms, and assess risks to Meta systems.

You will work with security engineers and analysts to identify critical assets and TTPs, evaluate potential attacks, and broker strong governance with policy teams while scaling incident response

Qualifications

• Understanding of how to manage security risks in a fast-moving environment
• 10+ years of experience in offensive or defensive cyber operations, detection and response engineering, or a similar security engineering role
• Experience in communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions
• Experience delivering executive-level security strategies
• Engineering experience and the capacity to understand and reason about complex technical systems
• Experience designing systems used for responding to both external and insider threats
• B.S. in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and prioritize areas of risk across the company
• Lead major cross-company workstreams to deploy capabilities from multiple security teams to mitigate this risk
• Apply domain expertise and an attacker's mindset to lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at strengthening incident detection and response capabilities for complex threats
• Perform TTP-based threat modeling for assets across endpoints, mobile, servers, cloud, and networking
• Review security architecture and propose logging, detection, and prevention controls
• Work with policy and legal teams to strengthen standards and governance
• Build response workflows that auto-resolve false positives and provide context
• Influence asset-owning teams to adopt proper access control designs and processes
• Support security incident response across a cross-functional environment
• Build logging pipelines using our custom datasets and infrastructure
