Job summary

Meta Security is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Nation State leadership team. You will drive strategy across security and engineering teams to develop detection and response automation, and assess risks and assets across Meta systems.

You will collaborate with Security Engineers and Analysts to apply attacker’s mindset, improve logging, detection, and response capabilities, and influence cross-functional partners to adopt robust access controls.

Qualifications

• Experience managing security risks in fast-moving environments.
• 10+ years in offensive/defensive cyber operations or related security engineering.
• Ability to communicate and influence across functions to drive solutions.
• Experience delivering executive-level security strategies.
• Strong engineering background to reason about complex technical systems.
• Experience designing systems to respond to both external and insider threats.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize areas of risk across the company.
• Lead cross-company workstreams to deploy capabilities from multiple security teams to mitigate this risk.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at strengthening incident detection and response capabilities.
• Perform TTP-based threat modeling for assets across endpoints, mobile, servers, internal services, cloud environments, and networking equipment.
• Review the security architecture and propose logging, detection, and prevention controls.
• Work with policy and legal teams to strengthen our standards and governance.
• Build response workflows that auto-resolve false positives and accelerate investigation.
• Influence asset-owning teams to adopt appropriate access control designs and processes.
• Support security incident response in a cross-functional environment.
• Build logging pipelines using our custom datasets and infrastructure.
