Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in engineering (Master’s preferred) with 7+ years in R&D and MV equipment failure analysis. English proficiency required; willingness to travel 20–30% and collaborate with global teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in R&D, technical failure analysis, and quality engineering.
• Hands-on field failure investigation experience on medium voltage equipment required.
• Ability to identify failure mechanisms using site evidence and tests.
• Expertise with 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, and Pareto tools.
• Experience in solar, utility, or related MV equipment environments.
• Strong communication skills with leadership, abroad travel ability (20–30%).
• Proficiency in English; German a plus.

Aufgaben

• Lead hands-on field failure investigations on MV equipment (transformers, switchgear, converters).
• Perform failure analyses and determine root causes.
• Apply the 8D method for corrective actions.
• Ensure analyses are documented to standards and stakeholder requirements.
• Conduct site analyses and provide technical consultation.
• Create detailed failure descriptions and coordinate with SMA HQ.
• Identify known failure patterns and advise on resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to implement actions.
• Monitor and verify effectiveness of corrective actions with service teams/suppliers.
• Coordinate with Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, and regional functions.
• Maintain collaboration with SMA headquarters and US application engineering.
• Travel 20–30% to customer sites and Rocklin, CA office.
