Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Waukesha, WI is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of medium-voltage power generation, conversion, and distribution systems.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience with MV electrical systems, power circuit design, and industry standards, and will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with MV power systems and equipment.
• Proficiency in ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop MV power systems (1 kV–38 kV) including switchgear and transformers.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and protection studies.
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and component specs.
• Support new product development from concept to production release.
• Lead electrical validation and testing plans (dielectric, environmental, fault-injection).
• Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, NEC, IEEE, CSA, ANSI.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage multiple projects.
