Job summary

WEG Electric Corp is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership for complex industrial power generation and grid stability projects. This role acts as the senior technical authority from proposal development through commissioning, collaborating with customers, EPCs, utilities and internal teams.

Based in Duluth, GA, the ideal candidate has deep expertise in rotating equipment, MV drives, and power systems.

Qualifications

10 years of engineering experience in rotating equipment, MV drives, power systems, or grid stability applications.
Deep knowledge of motors, generators, synchronous condensers, MV VFDs and related electrical systems.
Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and technical docs.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership during pursuit, engineering, execution, commissioning and customer support.
Serve as primary technical resource for customers, utilities, EPCs, consultants and stakeholders.
Review specifications, assess risks, and develop engineering solutions.
Support MV VFD, motor, generator and power system integration activities.
Lead technical reviews, FATs and commissioning as required.
Mentor project engineers and guide cross-functional teams.
Coordinate external engineering consultants when needed.
Resolve complex technical issues during project execution and startup.
