Job summary

Guitar Center is seeking a Sr. Sales Associate in Illinois to create a welcoming environment, help customers select gear, and drive sales. You’ll maintain expert product knowledge across guitars, recording gear, and accessories while building relationships within the local music community.

Responsibilities include achieving sales targets, upselling, merchandising, and mentoring teammates. Flexibility for evenings/weekends and a dynamic retail setting are required.

Qualifications

• Passion for music and products, with solid understanding across instruments.
• Proven sales success and a track record of exceeding targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Retail resilience to thrive in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers in a welcoming environment and help them find gear to fit their musical goals.
• Hit and exceed sales targets; upsell and cross-sell to complete setups.
• Maintain expert knowledge of gear from guitars to recording equipment.
• Build customer relationships and foster team connections within the local music community.
• Keep displays organized, restock shelves, and maintain a vibrant store vibe.
• Lead and mentor fellow team members; assist with opening/closing duties as needed.
