Job summary

WSB is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Oklahoma City. The role oversees multi-discipline municipal projects from proposal through closeout, coordinating meetings, hearings, and public involvement to keep projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, PE registration within six months, and 8+ years of municipal experience, preferably with the City of Oklahoma City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Registration as a professional engineer (or the ability to obtain within six months) is required.
• 8+ years municipal experience; direct experience working for a municipality.
• Experience working with the City of Oklahoma City is preferred.
• Experience managing municipal CIP programs and projects and coordinating clients and staff.
• History of delivering projects with positive customer service experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of multi-discipline projects and clients from proposal process to project closeout.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities including client meetings, public hearings, and public involvement events to move projects forward within time frames and budgets.
• Anticipate client needs and tailor communication accordingly.
• Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff across multiple locations.
• Work directly with municipal client staff to deliver CIP programs and projects, potentially on-site in staff augmentation.
• Establish and maintain relationships with municipal clients and ensure project requirements are met.
• Ensure projects comply with municipal codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
• Develop project budgets, allocate resources, and monitor expenditures for cost control.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, resolving issues during execution.
• Oversee contract negotiations and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Prepare or coordinate project/client correspondence and documentation.
• Lead business development activities with plans, leads, and participation in client meetings and networking events.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and promote innovation in municipal engineering.
• Understand or secure funding from alternative funding sources for municipal projects.
