Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a Payroll Consultant to support payroll engagements for diverse clients across multiple geographies. This mostly remote role requires within 50 miles of Baker Tilly offices in TX, WI, or PA to facilitate periodic on-site collaboration.

Ideal candidates have strong knowledge of payroll processes, multistate regulations, and experience with ADP/Workday/SAP, plus CPA-certified or CPP-credentialed professionals preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of payroll experience in a consulting firm or payroll function.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes and multistate regulations.
• CPP certification strongly preferred (or in progress)

Responsibilities

• Support payroll engagements across a range of clients, industries, and geographies.
• Assist in payroll setup and configuration, including earnings, deductions, and tax treatments.
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality work.
• Communicate payroll concepts and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
