Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Transportation Engineer to advance complete streets and multimodal projects from concept to construction. You will develop PS&E packages, deliver model-based designs, and ensure QA/QC during agency reviews, leveraging strong Civil 3D skills and knowledge of standards.

Ideal candidates have a PE license and 7+ years of transportation engineering experience, with the ability to collaborate across planners, landscape architects, and utilities, while traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• 7+ years of relevant transportation engineering experience, preferably with complete streets and multimodal projects.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required based on project location and scope.

Responsibilities

• Develop PS&E packages for multimodal and complete streets projects.
• Perform hands-on design using AutoCAD Civil 3D (corridors, alignments, surfaces, pipe networks, grading).
• Deliver model-based designs, manage sheet sets, QA/QC and agency reviews.
• Prepare engineer’s cost estimates (OPCC & PS&E-level) and project specifications.
• Apply AASHTO, NACTO, DOT, and municipal standards.
