Job summary

The College of Southern Maryland is seeking a Senior Maintenance Specialist IV to perform advanced campus maintenance, repair, and construction tasks. You will work across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry, painting, and related trades, often guiding other staff and ensuring code compliance.

Responsibilities include planning, prioritizing, and executing complex repairs with minimal supervision while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of onsite training under journeyman tradesman or equivalent.
• Experience in multiple building trades and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance across campus facilities and document work.
• Fix carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry and painting tasks.
• Inspect and repair walls, doors, windows, floors, and built-in fixtures.
• Lead or assist other maintenance staff as needed and ensure safety standards.
• Manage tasks with minimal supervision and coordinate with Facilities Superintendent.
