Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Motor Control Engineer to design and implement advanced motor control algorithms for BLDC and PMSM motors. You will build high-fidelity plant models in MATLAB/Simulink and validate performance through MIL/SIL/HIL testing, while integrating code with microcontroller RTOS and hardware peripherals.

Requires 8+ years in motor control, strong control theory, and hands-on embedded C.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics or equivalent hands-on experience.
8+ years of motor control algorithm design for BLDC or PMSM motors.
Strong foundation in classical and modern control theory including PID tuning.
Proficiency with MATLAB / Simulink and auto-code generation.
Experience writing production-quality embedded C on microcontrollers with hard real-time loops.
Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) integration and real-time simulators.
Knowledge of power electronics: three-phase inverters, PWM schemes, DC bus dynamics.
U.S. Person status required for export-controlled data.

Responsibilities

Design and implement FOC, six-step, and direct torque control algorithms for BLDC and PMSM motors.
Develop sensorless rotor position estimation techniques for sensorless operation.
Build MIL/SIL/HIL motor models and validate against requirements.
Integrate Simulink algorithm modules with MCU RTOS and peripheral drivers.
Develop motor control firmware in C with hard real-time constraints.
