Job summary

Kosma Technology LLC is seeking a Senior Moodle Engineer (Moodle SME) to own Moodle configuration, plugin strategy, and upgrade decisions for a U.S. federal contract. You will manage a large plugin estate, write fixes, and build dashboards and reporting for government review.

Expect end-to-end ownership of cohorts, enrollments, roles, formats, and completion, plus data migration and governance. W-2 terms with federal compliance and DC-area coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production Moodle administration at scale, including major-version upgrades you led.
• Deep configuration skills: cohorts, roles, capabilities, enrollment, course formats, completion, gradebook.
• Experience with SCORM/xAPI and SQL for Moodle schema queries.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and rationalize a plugin estate of hundreds of plugins; decide to retain, replace, repair, or retire with rationale.
• Own upgrade risk: compatibility triage, sandbox validation, rollback plans, phased deployment.
• Write targeted fixes to plugins/integration code and validate against upgrades.
• Own end-to-end configuration: cohorts, enrollment, roles, course formats, completion, gradebook, and reporting.
• Define data migration: users, course history, SCORM data, enrollments, certificates, and historical reporting.
• Build role-based dashboards and scheduled reports with stakeholders.
• Document plugin strategy, configuration baseline, and migration for Government review; hand off to platform engineer.
• Reporting and dashboard builds with measures defined with users.
