Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Florida seeks a Cytogenetics/Molecular Biology technician to perform STAT and routine clinical laboratory testing including FISH and karyotyping. Florida licensure is required to start, with daytime hours and weekend on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field (required)
• Completion of a clinical laboratory training program is required
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred (for licensure)
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, on-call, holidays and weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT and routine clinical laboratory testing on specimens using manual methods and automated analyzers
• Report valid and accurate results in a timely manner
• Interact with physicians, nurses and other staff to coordinate testing and communicate results
• Maintain testing capabilities and adapt to changing workloads
• Experience in a clinical lab setting is preferred
