Mayo Clinic is seeking a Medical Technologist II MT to support the Molecular Pathology Lab in Jacksonville, FL. This daytime role involves cytogenetics testing including cell culture, FISH, and karyotyping, with on-call weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Must have a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field.
• Completion of a clinical laboratory training program is required.
• Applicants with a related Baccalaureate Degree and clinical training will be considered in the appropriate field (i.e. Microbiology).
• Must have completed an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician program or similar.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT and routine clinical laboratory testing on biological specimens using manual methods and automated analyzers.
• Report valid and accurate patient results in a timely manner.
• Interact with physicians and nurses to coordinate testing and understand test availability.
• Maintain and optimize testing capabilities through operational support activities.
