Job summary

Applied Systems Engineering (ASEI), a Falcata Company, is seeking a Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer to lead a missile M&S team in Niceville, FL or Tucson, AZ. You will manage 6-DOF simulations across programs, shape model development, and drive verification standards in a fast-paced defense environment.

You will define shared architectures, oversee validation, and lead trade studies on HPC grids, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with Systems and GNC teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field. An M.S. is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience developing physics-based simulations of dynamic systems, with significant 6-DOF missile or flight vehicle simulation experience.
• Deep expertise in rigid-body dynamics, aerodynamics modeling, and numerical methods.
• Working knowledge of missile guidance, autopilot, seeker, and propulsion modeling.
• Expert proficiency in C++, Python, and Git.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple simulations or simulation variants on a common baseline.
• Experience building, leading, or mentoring an engineering team.
• Demonstrated experience defining and executing model verification and validation.
• Experience running large-scale studies on HPC clusters and analyzing statistical results.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple program simulations while keeping them common and on a shared architecture.
• Lead development and maintenance of preexisting 6-DOF missile simulations and set fidelity standards.
• Design and review complex models and verify all changes before release.
• Plan and lead large Monte Carlo and parametric studies on an HPC grid and present findings to leadership.
• Anchor simulations to flight test and ground test data, resolving discrepancies.
