John H Northrop And Associates, CTSi, and EXPANSIA have formed a Defense Technology platform and are seeking a Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer in the Tidewater/Newport News, VA area to lead MACE scenario development, model configuration, and simulation execution for an operations analysis study with a six-month horizon.

The successful candidate will translate the approved study plan into executable simulations, establish consistent baseline cases, verify model behavior, and deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Active Secret Clearance required for access to program data.
• Hands-on experience configuring, executing, and troubleshooting MACE scenarios.
• Experience leading technical modeling work or as principal model developer.
• Knowledge of military mission modeling including interactions and platforms.
• Ability to run controlled comparison cases, repeated runs, and document execution records.

Responsibilities

• Lead MACE scenario development and simulation execution.
• Translate operational vignettes into executable scenarios with defined conditions.
• Establish baseline configurations and controlled comparison cases.
• Configure platform, sensor, threat, and EW representations in MACE.
• Assess model capabilities and identify data gaps and limitations.
• Develop verification checks for initialization, behavior, and output consistency.
• Execute repeated runs and document run-to-run variation and settings.
• Provide organized simulation outputs and configuration records to analysts.
• Support analysts by explaining model behavior and limitations.
