Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineer 4 for the Northridge, CA site. The role focuses on defining, developing, and sustaining advanced modeling and simulation capabilities to support defense programs and system design.

Responsibilities include leading modeling efforts, validating simulations, and collaborating with customers and program leadership. A DoD Secret clearance with SAP eligibility is required, with on-site work in Northridge and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace engineering, physics, software engineering, systems engineering, or related field with 8 years' experience or MS degree with 6 years' experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in developing/troubleshooting C/C++ on Windows, Linux preferred.
• Significant experience with MATLAB or Python for data analysis and tooling.
• Experience with dynamics/kinematics applied to analysis or software development.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins.
• Active US Government DoD Secret security clearance with SAP eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and validate models and simulations for weapons systems.
• Extensive testing of simulations to verify requirements verification.
• Analyze results using MATLAB or Python; inspect C++ sources to trace failures.
• Ensure traceability from system requirements to models, tests, and analyses.
• Lead technical reviews of modeling approaches and present findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers in modeling techniques and disciplined systems engineering.
