Job summary

Northrop Grumman in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Principal or Principal Engineer in Systems Modeling and Simulation. The role is full time in the office, with preferred locations in San Diego or Palmdale.

You will analyze inventory effectiveness, apply probability-based analytics, and support decision making for performance improvements in aviation and defense programs. Candidates should have strong statistical modeling skills, Monte Carlo experience, and project-management aptitude.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related experience; OR Master's with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year in statistical analysis, data analysis, or system modeling.
• Experience in statistical modeling.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables/charts, formulas, macros).
• Ability to obtain US Government Top Secret clearance and SAP clearance.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate system simulation frameworks, performance models, threat models, and C2 models.
• Simulate real-time operation and model projected behavior of systems.
• Develop and use advanced GUIs and visualization tools.
• Model operational environments, perform trade studies via simulation, and recommend architectures.
• Conduct operational and mission effectiveness analyses.
• Develop MCS concepts, LORA, O&S cost analyses, and model-based systems engineering.
